Services Held July 25 At Norwich Cemetery

MARTELLE — Graveside services were held Wednesday, July 27, at 10:30 a.m. for Avis Armstrong Martin, 31, Martelle. Burial was in the Norwich cemetery. Rev. Walter Harper officiated. Goettsch funeral home, Anamosa, was in charge of the arrangements. Casketbearers included Dale Newman, Clair Robertson, William Goudy and Clair Richardson.

Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Martin died suddenly at 6:45 a.m. Monday, July 25, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G, Jack Armstrong, Martelle. She was sitting at the breakfast table when she suddenly slumped over the table. It was thought a blood clot caused her death. Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Davis and Kay, at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Martin, who was killed, in service during World War II. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Martin. Mrs. Martin was secretary to Joe E. Legg, county extension director.
