Forest Chapel United Brethren Church was founded in a log school house across the road. Originally part of a 5-church circuit, including Olin, Antioch, White Oak and Center, it was ministered by Jacob Miller, who walked from his home west of Olin. In 1859, this site was bought by Samuel Stover and a brick church was built. In 1884, this was replaced with wooden structure. A Thimble Society was organized in 1909 (What is a Thimble Society?). The Junior Christian Endeavor purchased a bell for the church in 1922. In 1946, the congregation became part of Evangelical United Brethern denomination and in 1961, joined with the United Methodist Church. The building was demolished in 1991, and, in 1993, a memorial erected.
