| John Christophersen, 86, of Clarence, Iowa passed away at his home on Friday, May 16, 2014. Funeral Services were held at 10:30 am Wednesday, May 21st at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oxford Junction, Iowa. Friends and family called Tuesday, May 20th, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction.
John M. Christophersen was born on June 25, 1928 to parents Ingwer and Mata (Bagus) Christophersen in Clarence. He was united in marriage to Frances "Betty" Rouse on April 7, 1951. John was a life-long farmer. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Church Board, Clarence School Board, Oxford Junction Polka Band, and a Jones County Supervisor for sixteen years.
John is survived by his daughter, Jane (Jim) Goggin of El Cajon, CA, his son, Scott (Jennifer) Christophersen of Iowa City, and his grandchildren; Alex, Lillie, Amanda, Beth and Jake Christophersen and Mallory Goggin.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, sons; Dr. Tim Christophersen and Mark Christophersen, his brother, Alfred Christophersen, and sister, Helen Thies.
