Allen L. Feuss, 68, of Oxford Junction, Iowa, died suddenly on Sunday, morning, May 23, 2010 at his home in rural Oxford Junction, Iowa.
A celebration of his life was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2010, from the Carson & Son Funeral and Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, from the Carson & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial was at the Smithtown Cemetery, rural Oxford Junction, Iowa.
Allen L. Feuss was born on March 9, 1942 in rural Clinton County, Iowa, to Fred A. Feuss, Sr., and Nellie Mae (Graves) Feuss. He was educated at Excelsior County School in Clinton County and attended Lost Nation High School. He married Judy Jo Merrick on August 4, 1962 in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Allen spent most of his life farming. He also did over the road trucking and had worked as a heavy equipment operator.
Allen showed Saddlebred Horses in the late 1960s. He enjoyed fishing for catfish on the Wapsi River, deer and coon hunting, tractor pulling and camping.
Allen is survived by his wife, Judy Feuss of Oxford Junction, children, Larry Feuss of Monmouth, Sharon (Craig) Van Ringelstein of Fremont, Darla (Jeff) Fields of Oxford Junction, and Ron (Kathy) Feuss of Waukon; seven grandchildren, two great-granddaughters; and brothers, Fred (Marlene) Feuss, Jr., of Lost Nation and LaVern Feuss of Clarence. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Donald, and a son, Dean Allen Feuss on March 22, 1998.
