Charles Frank "Chuck Ripp" Ripperton
March 25, 1949–January 2, 2009
ONSLOW— Charles Frank "Chuck Ripp" Ripperton, 59, of Oxford, Miss., formerly of the Onslow area, died Friday, January 2, 2009, at his home after a brief illness. Celebration of Life services: 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, January 17, at the Onslow Community Room in Onslow. Memorial services in Oxford are pending. Arrangements are with Coleman Funeral Home, Oxford.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Romano; two sons, Brennan Bolls-Romano and Charley Ripperton; one daughter, Gabrielle Bolls-Romano of Oxford, Miss.; two brothers, Forrest Riperton of Denver, Colo., and John Ripperton of Newhall; and two sisters, Sharon Howie of River Falls, Wisc., and Joyce Oehlerich of Walford.
Also surviving are one grandchild, Branson Lee of Batesville, Miss.; a sister-in-law, Pat Ripperton of Denver; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Howie and Jay Oehlerich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Morgan (Tim) Ripperton and Minta (Edwards) Ripperton; and one brother, Lonnie Ripperton.
Chuck was born March 25, 1949, the son of Tim and Minta (Edwards) Ripperton. He was raised in the Onslow area, graduating from Midland High School in Wyoming, Iowa, in 1967. As a professional musician, he performed with various groups and had recorded and written music for movie soundtracks.
He was a dedicated father and loved being with family and friends. His sense of humor and time with family and friends will be missed.
