Dorothy Lea Ryan
June 25, 1906 – January 28, 1920
The funeral of Dorothy Lea Ryan took place last Saturday afternoon. Brief services were conducted at the residence of her grandmother, Mrs. Jennie Brown, by Rev. Felix H. Pickworth, of Mt. Pleasant, interment at Riverside cemetery. The pallbearers were Robert Leaner, Clifford Bye, Loyd Carpenter, Brooks Mellecker, Clyde Chipman and Leo Zimmers.
Dorothy Lea was.the daughter of Joseph aad Jennie (Brown) Ryan, and was born June 25, .1906. She, died January 28, 1920, of pneumonia. Her mother passed away some years ago, since which time she had been under the care of her grandmother. Dorothy was always of a bright and cheerful disposition and became very popular and a general favorite among her associates. She took an active part—sometimes leadership—in the social festivities of her companions. She had gained the Freshman class in school and her name was on the roll of honor. In the Baptist Sunday school she held a foremost place ia the many activities of the. young people. Her presence among them will he greatly missed.
