Harlan W. Tallman
July 24, 1913–November 26, 1993
Harlan W. Tallman, age 80, of Anamosa, died Friday, November 26 at his residence.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 29 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa with interment in the Green Center Cemetery, Morley, Rev. Charles Silliman officiated at the service.
Harlan Wilbur Tallman was born July 24, 1913 at rural Morley. He was the son of Ellsworth and Etta Gordon Tallman. Harlan received his education in the Morley schools.
Harlan was united in marriage with Virginia Parks on February 11, 1935 at Anamosa. Following their marriage the couple farmed in Morley and remained at that capacity for their entire marriage. In 1987 Harlan retired from farming and moved to Anamosa. In addition to farming, Harlan served on the Morley School Board and the Green Center Cemetery Board. When he wasn't busy farming, Harlan enjoyed dancing, playing cards, traveling and spending time with his friends.
Harlan is survived by one son, Ronald of Olin; two daughters, Harlene Husmann and Judy Hart both of Anamosa; one brother, Virgil Tallman of Anamosa and one half-brother, Lester Tallman of Cedar Rapids; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Viginia in 1990.
Casket bearers were: Don Von Behren, Roger Gray, Jack Switzer, Darrell Hora, Gerald Stolte and Leonard Austin.
