The death of James Louis Tellon occurred at the McDonald hospital last Thursday morning, at an early hour. He had been in failing health for several months, and during the last three weeks of his life was a patient in the hospital. His death was caused by disabilities due to the infirmities of old age.
Mr. Tellon was born in Kentucky, November 10, 1856. He removed from ; Kentucky to Minneapolis, Minn., when a young man 21 years of age, and it was there that he was married to Ella Roswold, who survives him. His wife was a native of Norway, and she came to the United States from Christiania with her parents at the age of six years.
Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Tellon lived in Minneapolis for several years, and later they removed to Chicago, where Mr. Tellon was employed for thirteen years by Swift & Company. Thereafter they removed to Monticello, and they had lived in and about this town for 39 years, with the exception of eight years spent at Gays Mills, Wisconsin. During his residence in this community Mr. Tellon engaged in farming near Monticello and also he was in the restaurant business on several occasions. He was also employed by Yousse brothers.
Five weeks ago Mr. and Mrs. Tellon removed to the John Kehoe farm in Richland township. They planned to live there permanently. Mrs. Tellon expects to return to this farm and remain there until spring. No children were born to this union, and aside from a niece living at Louisville, Ky., Mr. Tellon has no immediate relatives. Funeral services were held at the Hayes funeral home last Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were in charge of the Rev. William J. Grossheim, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Mr. Tellon was burled in Oakwood cemetery. He was a man who had a host of friends who will always remember him kindly for liis good natured ways.
