David Dean Vacek

David D. Vacek, 63, of Oxford Junction, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.
His funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction. The visitation was held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction with burial at Mayflower Cemetery.
David Dean Vacek, was born on October 29, 1953, in Maquoketa to Albert and Blanche (Balichek) Vasek Jr. He graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1972. On November 18, 1978, he married the love of his life, Joy Gay, in Bettendorf, Iowa.
David farmed all of his life and was a truck driver from coast to coast. He attended the United Methodist Church in Oxford Junction and loved his faith in God and his family. He enjoyed fishing, camping and coyote hunting.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Joy of Oxford Junction; two daughters, Tiffany (Mike) Vorbeck of Andrew and Molly Vacek of Oxford Junction; a grandson, Kaiser; step-granddaughter, Hope, two sisters; Marlene (Steve) Hansel of Dubuque and Dolleen (Don) Brown of Jacksonville, Florida, and a brother, Eugene (Linda) Vacek of Uvalde, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
