Kathy Sue Vacek Richardson
November 1, 1959 – March 7, 2019
Kathy Sue Richardson, 59, of rural Tenstrike, Minnesota, died on March 7, 2019, at her home in Hagali Township, Minnesota.
Kathy was born on November 1, 1959, in Anamosa, the daughter of George and Lorene (Eggers) Vacek.  She attended school and graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1978.  She worked as a nurse’s aide at a nursing home in Cedar Rapids for a number of years. 
From 1985 to 1990, she worked as a correctional officer at what was then the Iowa State Reformatory in Anamosa.  It was there that she met and fell in love with Terry Richardson.  They were married on February 7, 1988, in rural Anamosa. 
In 1990, she became a fulltime homemaker and helped with the family farm in rural Anamosa.  In 2000, they sold the farm, Terry retired and they moved in August to Hagali Township, rural Tenstrike, Minnesota, where she has resided since.  She worked for REM, Good Samaritan Society, Blackduck and Anderson Fabrics in Blackduck.  She loved anything to do with the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping.  She especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Terry of Tenstrike, Minnesota; two daughters, Sarah (Collin) Green of rural Hines, Minnesota, and Jennifer Zoller of Cedar Rapids; three sons, Michael (Jennifer) Zoller of Olin, Sam (Elizabeth) Richardson of rural Blackduck and Lucas (Trisha) Richardson of rural Blackduck; six grandchildren, Ethan and Audrey Zoller, George Richardson, Abel Green, Lucy and Noah Richardson; two brothers, John “Sam” (Pat) Vacek and Marvin (Kathy) Vacek, both of Oxford Junction; sister, Marie Clapp of Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
