November 6, 1951 – April 26, 2017
|Edward Lee Walker, 65, of Gautier, Miss., formerly of Anamosa, passed away after a short illness on April 26, 2017. The family will hold private services at a later date.
Ed is survived by son, Bryan (Beth) Thumma; daughter, Angie (Dan) Albers; stepdaughters, Cheryl (Rob) Shown, Sue (Joe) Skoff, Sandra (Dan) Burnell and Jane Sweet; stepson, Rob (Terrie) Sweet; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Elvin Walker, George (Arlene) Walker, Ivan (Jana) Walker, and Jeri (Dawn) Walker; sisters, Diane Foster, Barb (Dave) Colehour and Kathy Walker (Rick Ever); sisters-in-law, Bev Walker, Peggy Walker and Theresa Dietker; brother-in-law, Merlin Oetken; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Sarah Grayce Walker; brothers, John, David and Michael Walker; sister, Jan Oetken; and grandchildren, Tyler Albers and Casey Barnell.
Ed was born Nov. 6, 1951, in Anamosa to Elvin and Sarah Grayce (Donovan) Walker. He graduated from Anamosa High School in 1971. He was united in marriage to Rene Miller in 1973. He remarried in 1984 to Gerry (Capron) Sweet.
Ed worked for several different construction companies during his lifetime until his retirement in March, 2017.
