Glenn William Wood

Glenn William Wood, 83, of Olin, died, December 9, 2018, in Anamosa, after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 14, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Olin. Friends visited with the family on December 13 from 4 p.m.to 8 p.m. at Lahey & Dawson Funeral Home in Olin with burial at the Olin Cemetery.
Glenn was born on September 11, 1935, in Olin, on the family farm to Archie and Ruth Wood. He graduated from Olin High School in 1953. He married Delores Strong on September 13, 1958. Glenn and Delores spent a brief time in Junction City, Kansas, while he was stationed as a mechanic in the US Army. They spent the remainder of their lives together on the family farm in rural Olin. Besides being a devoted farmer, he managed a route for High Grade Milk in Tipton and worked at Iowa Manufacturing. Over the years, Glenn developed a passion for tinkering and created many inventions on the farm in addition to designing and building their family home.
He is survived by his wife, Delores; children, Debora Tjaden (Steve) of Wyoming and Brenda Wick (Robert) of Stillwater, Minnesota; grandchildren, Stacey Tjaden of Wyoming, McKenzie Buck of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Darcey Tjaden of Lake Bluff, Illinois, and Marissa Buck of Maplewood, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents; brother, Richard; sisters, Helen Krutzfeld (Ed), Dorothy Miller (Tom), Ella Mae Holland (Charlie), Margaret Early (Carl) and Alice Christianson (Richard); and several nieces and nephews.
