Darrell E. Woolison, 69, of Olin, Iowa, died Saturday, January 16, 2010, at his home.
Family and friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. There was no funeral service. The family has honored his request and the body was cremated following visitation.
Darrell E. Woolison was born December 16, 1940 in Anamosa, Iowa to William D. and Irma (Jones) Woolison. He married Terri Faulkner on August 17, 1969 in Clinton, Iowa.
He worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa for 10 years, Cherry Burrell in Cedar Rapids for 6 years, and farmed all his life.
Darrell enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, trapping and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Terri Woolison, of Olin; children, Darrell Woolison, Jr., of Texas and Jenny (Jamie) Miller of Lost Nation; three grandchildren, Abby, Ethan and Ian Miller; one sister, Diane Harms of Lowden; a niece, Julie Woolison; three nephews, Eugene Harms, Tim Harms and Steve Harms; mother-in-law, Donna Faulkner and brothers-in-law, Jorge Faulkner and Danny (Shelly) Smith, all of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Veronica Michaelsen of Virginia; in-laws Howie and Sharon Miller of Oxford Junction; and close friends, Abram (Brittney) Palmer, Corey (Katie) Miller and Randy (Linda) McMurrin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two close friends, Gene Lloyd and Marlin Latare, a niece Susie Harms, his father-in-law, Daniel Smith, and grandparents-in-law, Vera and Jack Michaelsen.
