Wayne Franklin Yarolem Sr.

Wayne F. Yarolem, Sr., 75, of Monmouth, Iowa, died on Thursday evening, December 1, 2011, from injuries received in an automobile accident on Highway 64 in Monmouth, Iowa.
A celebration of Wayne's life was held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 7, 2011, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa. Visitation was held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday, December 6, at Carson & Son. Burial was in the Canton, Iowa Cemetery.
Wayne Franklin Yarolem, Sr., was born on November 4, 1936 in Canton, Iowa to Charles and Blanche (Bickford) Yarolem. He grew up in the Canton area, attended country schools and helped with chores at an early age. He married Beverly Ann Curley on April 2, 1955 in Dubuque, Iowa.
Wayne first worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa on the assembly line for fifteen years. He then began a thirty year career with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), retiring in 1999.
Wayne was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club in Maquoketa for twenty years and the IBEW Union for forty years.
Wayne enjoyed gardening, and also coon hunting in his younger days. His main passion though, was fishing. He fished almost every day with Catfish being his favorite species. With this love of fishing came a generous heart too. He was very giving of fish to family and friends and folks who didn't fish but enjoyed eating it. He also donated fish to many auctions for charity. Beyond his love for fishing was his love of family and the gatherings they would have, especially the fish fries.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Beverly Yarolem of Monmouth; children, Wayne (Trish) Yarolem of Tipton, Joe (Pam) Yarolem of Maquoketa, Rodney (Kandy) Yarolem of Sabula, Janetta (Brett) Harms of Wyoming, Debra (Daryl) DeVore of Monmouth, John (Kathy) Yarolem of Monmouth, and Chuck (Cheri) Yarolem of Monmouth; twenty grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren; a brother Jerry (Janice) Yarolem of Maquoketa; sisters, Phyllis Edwards of Monmouth, Jane (Clyde) Holland of Monmouth, and Marlene Kaye (Robert) Hess of Eldon, Missouri; and sisters-in-laws, Marlene Yarolem of Baldwin, and Connie Yarolem of Baldwin. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Nicole, three brothers and one sister.
