|Jennie Rathmann died September 16, 2012 at Anamosa Care Center. Graveside services were held at St. John's Cemetery, Clarence. She was born June 29, 1914 in Jones County, the daughter of Sievert Sievertsen and Ann (Christiansen) Sievertsen. She married John P. Rathmann May 1, 1934. He died in 1976.
She was a homemaker and farm wife. She enjoyed being active as a church member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Oxford Junction, was a 4-H leader and enjoyed traveling.
Jennie lived at Oxford Junction until five years ago when she moved to Woodland Park Assisted Living in Anamosa.
She is survived by a son, James, Bettendorf, daughter Joann (William) Tydings, Silver Springs, Florida, sister-in-law, Carleen Sievertsen, Anamosa; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Mike and John, two brothers and one sister.
