Edwin Harvey
Born August 26, 1833
EDWIN HARVEY, farmer, Fairview Twp., Sec. 1; P.O. Anamosa; was born in Cortland Go., N.Y., August 26, 1833; when he was 13 years of age, his parents emigrated to Iowa, and they came by wagon; they started May 7, and arrived in Jones Co. June 14, 1347, and located on the place where they now live; they were among the earliest settlers here. After reaching manhood, he married Miss Marion Haymaker, a native of Ohio, September 29, 1856. Mr. Harvey is engaged in farming, and owns a good farm of 120 acres of the old home place just outside of the city limits. They have had seven children, only one son of whom survives—John I., born February 14. 1864. Mr. Harvey's father died March 29, 1864; his mother is still living in Anamosa; she was born November 9, 1797, and is now 82 years of age, and is very active and well preserved.
