John King
Born 1835
JOHN KING, farmer, Wayne Twp., Sec. 26; P.O. Amber; born in Butler Co., Ohio, in 1835; came to Jones Co. in 1866. Has been Township Collector and Road Supervisor. Owns 120 acres. Wife's maiden name was Mary Ann Murphy, a native of Indiana; they were married in 1857; have had eight children, names of those living—H. F., Dora B., J. A. and S. J.; those dead were named Lizzie Jane, Martha Blanche, Jessie V. and Charlie; three of these died of diphtheria in October, 1878. Mrs. King is a member of the M.E. Church. Mr. King is a Republican.
