Robert Williamson
Born 1837
ROBERT WILLIAMSON, farmer, Scotch Grove Twp., Sec. 31; P.O. Center Junction; born in Dubuque in 1837. His father, John Williamson, went to Dubuque in 1834; he came to Richland Township, Jones Co., in 1839; he died at his home, in that township, on the 19th of October, 1868; he had six sons and two daughters—Robert, Samuel, Ann, Eleanor, John B., William Y., Richard W. and David C.; all living, except Samuel, who enlisted in Co. H, 31st I.V.I.; enlisted as a private; promoted to Orderly Sergeant; he died on the 27th of August, 1863, on board the Forest Queen, between Vicksburg and Memphis, while returning home on a furlough. Robert married Martha Ford, born in Pennsylvania; they have seven children—Eleanor McDonald, lives at Center Junction, Jones Co., and has one child; Ann, resides in San Francisco, Cal.; John, lives in Greene Co., Iowa; William, has recently sold his farm in Richland Township; Richard, lives at Center Junction; David, lives at Valpariso, Neb. Robert has 200 acres of land; came to present location in spring of 1867.
