Living with them is the mother of Emily (Graham) Vrooman, no. 16 Mary (Foster) Graham. Mary (Foster) Graham (1811 PA-1893 IA) was the wife of John Graham (1804 Ire-1869 IA) and the mother of John W. Graham (1842 MI-1890 IA) Civil War Vet and my great-grandfather. John W. Graham was the 2nd husband of Ruth (Waldron) VanDresser Graham (1844-1917). Emily (Graham) Vrooman (1845-1921) was the daughter of John and Mary and the sister of John W. Graham. The Graham Family moved from Mich. to Iowa ca 1852. They appear with Emily and John W.'s other siblings, Walter Graham (1842) and Mary Ann Graham (1847), in the Federal Census for Iowa, Jones County, Hale Twp. 1860.on p. 423. Emily (Graham) Vrooman, Mary (Foster) Graham and John Graham are buried in Wyoming Cemetery, Jones county, Iowa." |
