Jones County Death Records Indexes Online

The State Historical Society of Iowa has uploaded a new State Archives death records database. Jones county death records July 1918-1933 that are not available on County Records microfilm can now be accessed in PDF format.

Each death record contains the deceased¹s name, birth date, birth place, death date, mother¹s maiden name, death certificate number, and the archive box number.

Researchers have several options for obtaining copies of the actual death certificates. Pay the basic reference fee and contact the Historical Library and Archives Reading Room to order a photocopy of the certificate, or visit the reading room personally and pay only for the photocopy.

Visit the SHSI website and check out the excellent resources available through SHSI! Questions? Want to volunteer to help with this or another indexing project? Contact: Librarian Susan Jellinger, (515) 281-6897.
