Myron Denniston

MYRON DENNISTON, the son of A. F. Denniston, of this city, was born at this place November 31st, 1898, and reached this twentieth birthday last month. He attended the public schools in this city, from which
he graduated in the year 1916. When the demand for help was so urgent at the Rock Island Arsenal, he went to that city, where he received employment, at which he remained until the announcement was made by the Government that young men with the proper high school credits would have the opportunity of enlisting in the service of their country and at the same time enter some university. He was one of the boys from this city who went to Iowa City about the first of October to enlist and also enter the University at that place, becoming a member of the S. A. T. C. Although being permitted to attend school he was subject to call for service at any time, until the war was over, and now will be mustered out. We are unable to print herewith a picture of this young man’s mother as she passed away in 1915, three years ago.
