CENTER JCT. BOY KILLED ON OKINAWA

CENTER JUNCTION — Lorenz Petersen, 26, died June 15 in a hospital on Okinawa from wounds sustained the same day, according to a war department message received by his mother, Mrs. Anna Petersen, Wednesday of last week.

Petersen entered service, Dec. 27, 1943, and trained at Camp Roberts, Calif, with the 17th infantry division, he served in Hawaii, the Philippines, the Marianas and Okinawa. He is survived by his mother, one brother John, Gunner's mate, 1/C, on the east coast, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Balster from west of Monticello.

Petersen attended the Center Junction school and was employed on farms before entering the service.
