| Ron Arduser, 69, of Monticello, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, October 14, 2017, surrounded by his family from his short but hard fought ten month battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease/ALS.A Life Celebration Service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, October 19, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church, Monticello. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends called from 4 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the First Presbyterian Church, Monticello. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, has been entrusted with Ron’s services.Ron was a lifelong resident of Monticello, where he was born, raised and graduated from Monticello High School. Ron began a life-long career in April 1974 as a self-employed licensed contractor and master electrician. From there, he began the business of Arduser Electric and Construction. Ron, and his brother, Dave, worked alongside each other for forty-two years, building many houses and remodels in the surrounding area. He loved his work and trade, taking great pride in everything he did.Ron is survived by his wife, Peg of forty-nine years; and their children, Brett (Michelle) of Solon and Angie (Mark) Dutra of Anamosa; grandsons, Cole Arduser and Gage Dutra; and brother, Dave (Connie) Arduser.Preceding him in death are his parents, Paul and Myrtle Arduser, father-in-law, Dean Cooper, and brother-in-law, Jack Recker.Ron was an avid Hawkeye fan and football season ticket holder for forty years, missing only two games during that time.The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Kaitlin Ahlskog and Mandy Hanken for their excellent care and compassion through this journey. We are forever grateful to them both.
