| Carlyn Achenbach, 92, of Anamosa, passed away following a brief illness, Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Donna and Dennis Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.In accordance to her wishes, a private service for immediate family will be heldCarlyn Ida Mae Achenbach was born June 5, 1925 in Anamosa. She was the daughter of Carl and Elizabeth (Michels) Barnes. Carlyn was a 1943 graduate of Anamosa High School.On June 6, 1946 she was united in marriage to Arden Achenbach in Anamosa. Carlyn was a homemaker and helped Arden with his livestock trucking business. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.Survivors include three sons: Gary (Jean) Achenbach of Boone, Carl (Mary) Achenbach of Anamosa and Randy (Rhonda) Achenbach of Marion; seven grandchildren, Brent (Julie) Achenbach, Sara Achenbach, Brian Achenbach, Christine (Joel) Miller, Daniel (Andrea) Achenbach, Rochelle Achenbach, and Reed (Autumn) Achenbach; and eleven great-grandchildren.Carlyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arden in 2004; granddaughter, Julie Achenbach; brother, Merlin Barnes and a sister Mildred Behrens.
