Lorraine Bartels Clark
July 17, 1929 – May 27, 2017
Lorraine Clark, 87, of Anamosa, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Anamosa Care Center from complications due to Parkinson’s. A private family inurnment will be held in the Linn Grove Cemetery in Martelle at a future date.
Lorraine was born July 17, 1929, to Hans and Edna Bartels. She graduated from Martelle High School in 1947. On December 28, 1952, Lorraine and Homer Clark were united in marriage in Anamosa. She worked for a number of years at Kouba Pharmacy.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Scott (Paula) Clark of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Jolene (Bernie) Keeney of Anamosa, Kenna (Gregory David) of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Tamara (Kevin) Schafbuch of Cedar Rapids and Lance (Jacquie) Clark of Gainsville, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Virtus Bartels of LaMirada, California and sister, LaVonne (Gareth) Reed of Brutus, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Clark; her parents Hans and Edna Bartels; sisters, Linda Von Behren, Lea Schaefer and Lila Schlemmer; and infant twin granddaughters, Autumn and Alaina Schafbuch.
Lorraine was a wonderful mother, cook, seamstress and hairdresser extraordinaire. She loved being with her family, gardening, playing cards and dominos. Many thanks to the staff at the Anamosa Care Center for providing exceptional care for our Mother.
