Mrs. Fannie Osborne Rites Held July 3

Mrs. Fannie Bedell Osborne, an Anamosa resident for 67 years died at her home Friday evening, June 30. Mrs. Osborne was born at Albion, New York, on May 18, 1865, one of the four children of George H. Bedell and Amelia Burgess Bedell.
The Bedell family came west in the 70s and settled in Clinton. Mr. Bedell owning and operating grain elevators along the new Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. The family moved to Anamosa in 1883, and it was here that Fannie Bedell was married to Louis D. Osborne on October 15, 1893.
Mrs. Osborne was educated in the Anamosa Public Schools, and was an accomplished pianist and musician.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Osborne Braun; a granddaughter, Constance Braun; a nephew, Frank Bedell, Cedar Rapids; and five first cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mertie, two brothers, Roscoe L. Bedell and George H. Bedell, Jr., and an infant daughter.
Services were conducted at the Goettsch Funeral Home Monday afternoon, July 3 at 2 p.m. with cremation committal at the family lot in Riverside Cemetery.
