Chris Bendixen
October 30, 1946 – November 6, 2018
Chris Bendixen, 72, of Olin, passed away on November 6, 2018, at his home in Olin.
A funeral service was held on Friday, November 9, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Lahey and Dawson Funeral Home in Olin with visitation held Thursday, November 8 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date at Antioch Cemetery in rural Anamosa.
Chris was born on October 30, 1946, to Werner and Margaret (Osterkamp) Bendixen. He attended schools in Wyoming and Oxford Junction. He married Carol Moore on November 2, 1964, and worked as a heavy equipment operator at Wendling Quarries for twenty-five years. Chris really enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Deb (Steve) Heiken of Wyoming, Stacy (Don) Yerington of Muscatine, Trent (Mary) Bendixen of Olin, Rod (Krista) Bendixen of Cedar Rapids and Willy (Vicki) Bendixen of Mechanicsville; ten grandchildren, April Smiley, Christopher Postel, Kacey Bean, Kelli Ubben, Beth Bendixen, Mitchell Bendixen, Seth Bendixen, Jordan Bendixen, Zach Bendixen and Kourtney Bendixen; one great-grandchild, Brooke Farrington; sisters, Margaret (Tom) Rohwedder of Wyoming, Anna Marie Entsminger of Anamosa, Sylvia Rickels of Anamosa, Evelyn (Jim) Heinsius of Cedar Bluff and his twin sister Chrystal (Steve) Klatt of Olin; and brother, Richard (Arlene) Bendixen of Amber.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; two brothers, Warner Jr., and Hans; his sister, Helen Fall.
