| Steven C. Blume, 54, passed away from a sudden illness Sunday, October 25, 2015, at his home in Oxford Mills.Visitation was Thursday, October 29, 2015, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Oxford Junction. Funeral services began at 12 noon, burial followed at the Mayflower Cemetery. Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction is serving the family.Steven was born on September 20, 1961, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Charles and Geraldine (Bizek) Blume. He graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1980 and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1982. Steven was previously employed at Shelter Globe for eleven years, Betterway Carpet Cleaning, and Temp Services. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed trout fishing. Steven took great pride in his family, gardening, and yard work.He is survived by his mother, Geraldine, three sisters; Brenda (Larry) Otte, Oxford Junction, Laurie (Steve) Jansen, Anamosa, and Rhonda (Todd) Jeffery, Wyoming, seven nieces and nephews, and nine great nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Blume, and his grandparents.Steven will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
