Connie Lee Bodenhofer Stutting

Connie L. Stutting, 71, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Monday morning, November 30, 2015, at the Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa.
A celebration of Connie’s life was held at 10 A.M. Saturday, December 5 from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 4, from the funeral home. Burial was at the Union Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa.
Connie Lee Bodenhofer was born on October 8, 1944, in Monticello, Iowa, to Roy Everett and Merle Adele (Hogg) Bodenhofer. She was a 1962 graduate of Monmouth High School. She married Max H. Stutting on April 17, 1969, in Maquoketa. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2009.
Connie had worked at Jackson State Bank/Hawkeye Bank in Maquoketa for over twenty years. She then worked for a bank in Dubuque for a couple of years and semi-retired and worked as the bookkeeper for the City of Monmouth.
Connie had serve as the president of the local chapter for the American Cancer Society from 1988 to 1990. She enjoyed writing poetry and short stories, and dreamed of being a foster mother to kids who needed help.
Those left to honor Connie’s memory include her children Kyle Jay (Sandy) Hanson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, James Roy Hanson of Bellevue, Iowa, and Angela Lee (Thomas) Marcelynas of Seattle, Washington; two grandchildren, Brandon and Jessica Hanson; brother Goen (Linda) Bodenhofer of Maquoketa; and sister Sharon (Phillip) Reese of Minona, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max and sister Shirley Rohr.
