Albert Boots

Albert Boots, 93, of Wyoming, Iowa passed away Thursday, February 27th, 2014 at Silvercrest in Anamosa, Iowa.
Funeral services celebrating his life were held on Monday, March 3rd, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming, Iowa. Friends and family called on Sunday from 1 - 4 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home, Wyoming. Burial was at Wyoming Cemetery.
Albert was born to Arthur and Thresa (Young) Boots on February 20th, 1921. He married Irene (Edwards) on June 10th, 1972 at The Little Brown Church in the Vale at Nashua, Iowa.
He worked as a farmer for many years and at Midland High School in the maintenance department. Albert also owned and operated Boots Flower Shop and Greenhouse in Wyoming. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Iowa Women basketball and Midland High School sports fan. He enjoyed his morning coffee at Casey's and telling jokes. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Housing Board, and Wyoming Museum Commission. Albert was always there to lend a hand in the community and loved being part of the crew for Christmas City decorating in Wyoming.
He is survived by his children, Cheryl (Lyle) Gullickson of Dike, Barbra (Steve) Burchett of Springfield, MO, James Boots of Monticello and Dennis (Maria) Boots of Wyoming; two step-children, Kathy (Alex) Salvaran of Texas and Bill (Kate) Edwards of Arizona; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and a brother, Howard (Velma) Boots of Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, Kathryn and two brothers, Bernard and Arthur Jr.
