Alberta Maxine Boots Fairley

Alberta M. Fairley, 97, of Onslow passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center.
Her Funeral Service was held Monday, October 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming, Iowa. Family and friends called Sunday, October 26, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming. Burial was held at Wyoming Cemetery.
Alberta Maxine Boots was born on January 29, 1917 in Anamosa, Iowa to Albert and Bertha (Haynor) Boots. She graduated from Mechanicsville High School. On January 21, 1938 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Fairley and together they farmed.
She was a member of the Claytonian Club of Onslow. She loved gardening, bird watching, quilting, and embroidering. She was known for her big meals that she enjoyed cooking for her family and anyone who stopped by.
Alberta is survived by one daughter, Marcia (Laurel) Bahnsen of Onslow, one daughter-in-law Linda (Smith) Fairley, four grandchildren; Sheri (Aaron) Tjaden, Corey (Angie) Fairley, Carrie Bahnsen, Curt (Randi Runge) Bahnsen, eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Doris Harness of Mechanicsville and Shirley Bornstrager of Council Bluffs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Gary, one brother Everette Boots, and two sisters; Geraldine Meineke, and Pauline Gamble.
