Myrtle E. Brickley McMurrin

Myrtle E. McMurrin, 90 of Dayton, OH, formerly of Anamosa, IA, died Sunday, February 2, 1997, in Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, OH after a brief illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday, Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, IA, where friends may call after noon Friday. Burial: Antioch Cemetery, rural Anamosa, IA.
Survivors include a daughter, Norma (Chaplain Donnis) Burris of Trotwood, OH: five sons, Lee (Frances) McMurrin, Ph.D of Cleveland, OH, Nathan McMurrin of Van Cleve, KY, Dwight McMurrin of Middletown, OH, and Pastor Roger (Diane) McMurrin of Kiev, Ukraine; 22 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Lower of Cedar Rapids, IA; and the Brickley family of Anamosa, IA; Blanche, Rosalie Shada, Lloyd, Bud, and Dick.
Born October 15, 1906 in Jones County, IA, she was the daughter of Jerimiah and Deliliah Grim Brickley. She received her education in the Anamosa schools, where she graduated in 1924. She later taught at the Antioch School near Anamosa, where she met her husband, the Rev. Albert McMurrin, who came to pastor. The couple married August 16, 1928, at the Antioch Church. Her husband died in 1991. Myrtle had been a resident of Friendship Village in Dayton, OH. Memorials may be made to the Myrtle Brickley McMurrin Widow's Fund, c/o Music Mission Kiev, Inc., P.O.
