Lillian F. Brauer, 91, of Lost Nation, Iowa died Monday, April 15, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa.
Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Lost Nation. Family and friends called from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lost Nation. A vigil service was held at 7:00 p.m. Burial was at Lost Nation Cemetery.
Lahey Funeral and Cremation Services of Lost Nation was in charge of arrangements.
Lillian Brauer was born March 21, 1922, in Oxford Junction, Iowa to Louis and Kathryn (Lasack) Buresh. She graduated from Oxford Junction High School. On January 9, 1940 she was united in marriage to Alvin Brauer.
Lillian was a homemaker and farmed with her husband. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lost Nation. Also, she was in the Altar and Rosary Society and Mother's Club at church. She enjoyed bus trips and working at the polls. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three children: Carol (Brad) Anderson of DeWitt, Mona (John) Sorenson of Dubuque and Bill (Beverly) Brauer of Maquoketa; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, a sister Marguerite Coon of Oxford Junction, and a brother Louis (Olive) Buresh of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and an infant brother Arnold.
