Death of Mrs. John Brady
Death of Mrs. John Brady, Wednesday morning, robbed Anamosa of one of its best-loved citizens and cast a pall of sorrow over the entire community. For Mrs. Brady was a person who was loved by everyone--those who knew her literally adored her, and those few who did not know her admired her simply because they had heard nothing but the finest things about her.
Mrs. Brady was the perfect wife and mother. Only Feb. 11 she and Mr. Brady celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, and the Brady home was the scene of happy reunions of the children many times each year. First and last love of Mrs. Brady was her family and her home.
Generous, deeply religious, broad-minded, ever gracious and friendly, the very heart and soul of a typical fine American family, Mrs. John Brady was a woman whose loss created a vacancy in this community which can never be filled.
Note: Julia Brady was the first child of John Chesire and McDermott, born in 1865. Her siblings were: Jennie (Morrissey), John, Ellen, Charles, and Agnes (Brady). Her children were: Irene, Edward, Dan Jack, Charles, Robert and Esther (Dolan).
