Carolyn Kay Conner Moore

Carolyn Moore, 79, died peacefully Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Pinicon Place, Anamosa.
A time to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held Monday, November 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa. A private family service and interment in the Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction, will be held at a later date.
Surviving are her husband of sixty-three years, Merlin; five children, Kent (Becky), Karla (Monte) Kyle (Donna Wendt), Kandis (Jon) and Kip (Tami); sixteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Kim; and a sister.
Carolyn Kay Conner was born August 10, 1936, at Traer, Iowa. She as the daughter of Keith and Laura (Evans) Conner. Carolyn attended school in Center Junction, Wyoming and Oxford Junction. Carolyn and Merlin were married on February 9, 1952, at United Methodist Church in Oxford Junction. Carolyn was a stay-at-home mom, raising her six children. In later years, she worked at the Anamosa Care Center, where she was the head of the laundry department for twelve years.
Carolyn and Merlin loved to go dancing on Saturday nights. They enjoyed many trips to Branson. For several years, they helped Kent and Karla with their band, as well. Carolyn was an avid knitter and seamstress, making many of her own clothes. She always enjoyed the knitting club she belonged to. When she was not knitting she played solitaire.
