Connie Sue Fisher age 62, of Anamosa, peacefully passed to a greater life at her Delhi lake home, on Wednesday evening, October 22, 2008 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 Monday morning, October 27, 2008 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Anamosa with interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Rev. George Karnik officiated at the services. Friends called from 3 until 7 Sunday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa where a parish Scripture Service was held at 7:00.
Surviving are her husband Fred; three children, Kelly (Bryan) Johnson, Des Moines, Eric (Jennie) Fisher, Marion, Matt (Mackenzie) Fisher, Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Boudicca, Tyler and Carlie Fisher, Jacob and Zachary Johnson, Maizey Fisher; a brother, Greg (Madeline) Curtin Prophetstown, Ill., Glenda Flemming, Amboy, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Kent.
Constance Sue Curtin was born April 11, 1946 at Waukon, Iowa, the daughter of James and Wilma (Goeke) Curtin. Connie graduated from Midland Community High School in Wyoming. She continued her education at University College of Cosmetology in Iowa City. Connie then worked as a beautician in Mount Vernon. Connie Sue Curtin and Fred Fisher were married August 12, 1967 at Oxford Junction. The couple made their home in Anamosa where Connie worked as a dental technician for 18 years. She later worked as a teller at Security State Bank for 8 years. She retired in 2003. Connie loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her flowers and lake home. She will be remembered as a very kind and generous person.
