Ann V. Dallas Peet
2 Apr 1824 – 22 Sep 1874
Near Fairview, Jones County, Tuesday, September 22 of consumption, Mrs. Ann, wife of James M. Peet. The funeral was held at the residence of the deceased, Wednesday at two o’clock. Rev. Mr. Dickey, of Red Oak Grove, preached a very strong and impressive sermon. Mrs. Peet was an earnest, devoted Christian woman and member of the Presbyterian Church. She lived and loved for her husband, her children and home, and was universally esteemed by a wide circle of neighbors and friends, among whom she had lived for more than thirty years. The attendance at the funeral was very large, almost the entire community for miles around being present to pay their last token of respect to the life and memory of the departed, and to share their sympathy with the deeply bereaved family.
