Ida Viola Darrow Steenhoek
April 1, 1896–January 2, 1985
Ida Viola Steenhoek, 88, of Anamosa, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, in Anamosa Care Center after a long illness.
Graveside services were held Friday afternoon at Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Keith Hamilton of the United Methodist Church officiated.
Geottsch Funeral Home was in charge.
The former Ida Darrow was born April 1, 1896, in Jones County to Charles and Jesse Benedict Darrow. She was educated in Cass Township schools.
She and Robert Steenhoek were married in 1943. The couple farmed for many years in Cass Township.
Mrs. Steenhoek was a member of Evangeline Rebekah Lodge 31.
Survivors are a nephew, Delbert Darrow of Cedar Rapids, and two nieces, Viola Douglas of Peoria, Ill., and Bernice Darrow of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966, one brother and her parents.
