Lori Ann Dirks Hill

Lori Hill, age 55, died Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Unity Point Hospice, Cedar Rapids following a brief illness.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00am Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa, with Interment in the Wayne Zion Cemetery. Friends may call after 9:00am Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
Surviving is her daughter, Kathy Topping, and granddaughter, Sidney Toycen of Anamosa, two sisters, Diane (David) Simmons of Worthington and Janice (Keith) McCloy of DeSoto, MO.; and two brothers, Raymond and Leonard Dirks, both of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Virginia, and a brother, Duane.
Lori Ann Dirks was born March 27, 1962 in Anamosa. She was the daughter of Elmer and Alvina Stutt, Dirks. Lori graduated from the Olin Consolidated Schools in 1980. She graduated from Kirkwood College in 1984 as a registered nurse. She worked at the Clarence Nursing Home and the V. A. Hospital in Iowa City. She later moved to Anchorage, Alaska where she worked for the Indian Health Services.
Lori completed her career degree by getting a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Anchorage. After she returned to the lower 48 states, Lori worked at the Anamosa Care Center, Pro Care in Cedar Rapids, and the Kalona Mennonite Hospital. She was currently working for Recover Health in Cedar Rapids where she cared for children that are paraplegic. When she wasn’t working she loved to play her key board, read and take continuing education classes.
