Nathan L. Ellefson

Nathan L. Ellefson, 53, of Wyoming, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at his mother's home in Wyoming.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, November 9, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming, with the Rev. Bob Wessels officiating. Family and friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming, Iowa.
Nathan Lee Ellefson was born July 4, 1956, in Waukon, Iowa, son of R. Truman and Lydia Ann (Billings) Ellefson. He graduated from Midland High School in 1975 and received his degree in Production Agriculture from Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids.
He married Deborah Husmann on June 25, 1983, at Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming, Iowa.
He worked for the Jones County Road Maintenance for thirteen years and was a self employed painter for many years. He also farmed his grandparents' farm in Waterville, Iowa, for fifteen years.
He was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church and was a volunteer fireman with the Wyoming Fire Department for sixteen years. He enjoyed hunting and recently started motorcycling.
He is survived by his wife, Deb Ellefson of Wyoming; one son, Jeramie (Dana) Ellefson of Hiawatha; one granddaughter, Jordyn; his mother, Lydia Ellefson and one sister, Tammy Krotz of Wyoming; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, R. Truman Ellefson on July 25, 2005, and his grandparents.
