Verlin Kay Fall

Verlin K. Fall, 80, of Olin passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015 at his home.
His Funeral Service was held at 10:30 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin on Thursday, September 10, 2015. A visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery with military honors.
Verlin Kay Fall was born on August 23, 1935 in Hale, Iowa to Leo and Fawnie (Blythe) Fall. On June 17, 1962 he was united in marriage to Mary Barnes at the United Methodist Church in Stanwood, Iowa. He worked for his brother at Fall’s Garage for five years and worked as a sawyer for Bahl Lumber in Oxford Junction for thirty years.
He was a past member of the American legion Blayney Miner Ahrendsen Post #412 in Olin. Verlin served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 – 1957 spending time at Camp Pendleton and Twenty Nine Palms. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and hunting mushrooms. In earlier years he and Mary went dancing three to four times a week. Also, he worked in the pit crew for his brother’s stock car.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Mary of Olin, a daughter Kimberly (Michael) Harks of Marion, three grandchildren; Benjamin, Lucas and Kelsey; and a sister Lila Aikman of Piedmont, Albama.
Verlin was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings; Vern, Leo Jr., Wrenden and Lenta Jackson.
