Samara Jane Farrington Sams

Samara Jane Sams, age 76, died peacefully Friday, February 22, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. As per her wishes her body was cremated.
Graveside memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa. Carla Burge officiated at the service.
Surviving are her children Robert of Maquoketa, Charles (Carla), Terry (Coleen) and Yutanna of Anamosa, Doug (Mae) of Monmouth, Jim (Louise) of Hale, Judy (Will) of Oxford Junction and Cindy (Mark) LeClere of Lisbon; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren and sixteen brothers and sisters. Preceding her in death were her loving husband Kenny, her parents, a son Andy, a daughter Pam, a granddaughter Cheryl, great-granddaughter Alexa and a sister Iris Mettler.
Samara Jane was born August 22, 1936 in Anamosa at her parents' home. She was the daughter of Walter and Eleanor (Pavin) Farrington, the 6th child of 18. She attended Anamosa schools. On October 17, 1953 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Sams. They had ten children.
She worked at various jobs and retired from Chesapeake Packaging. Samara enjoyed life. She loved going to bingo, playing cards, crafts and especially spending time with her family and her dog Daisy.
