Margaret Lee Flockhart Ketelsen
April 26, 1906–May 30, 2002
Margaret Lee Ketelsen, 96, of Springville, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Meadow Ridge Residential Living Center, Anamosa, after a short illness. Services: 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2002, at Springville United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Keizer. Visitation will be at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion from 2–4 p.m. Sunday. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty and husband Gene Falcon of Springville; her son, William and wife Betty Ketelsen of Martelle; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents, Adam and Margaret Flockhart; two brothers; and one sister.
Margaret was born April 26, 1906 in Langenburg-Saskatchewan, Canada, coming to Iowa as a baby and lived in eastern Iowa all her life. She graduated from Anamosa High School in 1924, and received an RN degree from Mercy Hospital in 1927. In 1930, she married William Ketelsen. After raising their two children, she resumed her nursing profession at Mercy Hospital until her retirement.
Her family always came first. She loved life and always looked for the bright side. Family and friends were always so precious to her. Margaret was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge, member of Senior Citizens, several clubs and a life-long member of the Methodist Church.
