James "Jim" William Foulks
October 21, 1942–January 14, 2014
James "Jim" W. Foulks, 71, of Onslow, died Tuesday morning, January 14, 2014, at Unity Point Health - St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Friends and family may gather for a Remembrance Luncheon beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 18, at Monmouth Community Center in Monmouth. Burial will be at a later date in St. Peter's Cemetery, Temple Hill.
James William Foulks was born October 21, 1942, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Clarence and Helen (Kelly) Foulks. He grew up in the Temple Hill area and was a 1961 graduate of St. Martin's High School in Cascade. He married Sharon Carr on November 3, 1972, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Temple Hill.
Jim was a hard worker and farmed the family farm while also working several factory jobs, including Clinton Engines, Caterpillar and most recently Energy Manufacturing in Monticello, where he retired as a CNC operator in 2006.
Jim enjoyed camping, tinkering and "monkeying" around. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Jim was a friend to all and loved by many.
Those left to honor Jim's memory include his wife, Sharon Foulks of Onslow; daughters, Anita (Mac) Besler of Marion, Dianne (Brandon) Rivas of Marion and Linda (Adam) Windschitl of Missouri Valley, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Avary, Emery, Dante, Darius, Isabella, Caitlin and Audrey; a sister, Sarah Foulks of Temple Hill; and a brother, Bob Foulks of Tipton, as well as many cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews and close family friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Dick and Pat.
The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.
