John Frasher

John Frasher, age 69, of Anamosa died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids from injuries received from a farm accident.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Monday morning, October 13, 2014 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where a Scripture service will be held at 2:30 p.m.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene, two children, Jerry (Kristy) Frasher, Anamosa, Pam (Bill) Gates, Phoenix, Arizona, two step-children, Kathy (Craig) Bartmess, Mt. Vernon, Jeremy Erie, Mechanicsville; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Jessica, Emily, Corynn, Dakota, Logan, Huck, and Layla as well as his sister Mary Frasher, Anamosa. John was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Diane.
John Frances Frasher as born September 24, 1945. He was the son Thomas and Amy (Jamison) Frasher. John graduated from the Anamosa Community Schools in 1963. John married Diane Zimmerman on November 11, 1967 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Anamosa. John worked as a salesman for Yoder Feeds and later DeKalb feeds from 1965 until September of 2014. He also formed the family farm in Fairview Township. Diane preceded him in death on February 19, 1995.
John married Marlene (Chittick) Erie on August 22, 1998 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The couple lived on the Frasher family farm near Anamosa.
John had been active in the 4-H Club Calf Program for many years. He also served on the Great Jones County Fair Board. John was dedicated to many youth programs, including the Iowa State Fair Sale of Champions. Throughout his life, he also participated in many organizations including the Anamosa Rotary Club.
