Andrew T. Glass Passes Away

Andrew T. Glass, 91, a retired farmer living 3 1/2 miles east of Prairieburg on a Monticello rural route, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Hargens, 2 1/2 miles south of Marion. Mr Glass had not been well for a year but had been bedfast only a week.
He was born September 30, 1860 at River Falls, Wis., the son of Truman and Marietta Rollins Glass and had lived in the Monticello vicinity for 61 years. He was married Oct. 1, 1890 to Miss Miriam Elizabeth Balch at Cherokee, Ia.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three sons: Ernest of Delhi, Howard of Marion, and Ralph of Alburnett; four daughters: Mrs. Gertrude Knapp, Central City; Mrs Jessie Bohlken, Marion; Mrs. Ester Avis, Coggon; and Mrs. Eva Hargens, Cedar Rapids. He also leaves 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Sumner Glass or Cedar Rapids and Howard Glass or Pomona, Mo.
Funeral services were conducted at the Yocom-Murdoch chapel in Marion at 2 P.M. Wednesday by Rev. H. G. Schwegler or Cedar Rapids. Burial was in Cedar Memorial Park at Cedar Rapids. Bearers were Howard and Marvin Knapp, Earl Bohlken, Wayne Mineck, Paul Wilcox and Milo Glass.
