Ruth M. Graves Johnson April 21, 1916–January 11, 2003
		Ruth M. Johnson, age 87, of 210 32nd St. N.E. (Cedar Rapids) died Saturday, January 11, 2003 at the Hiawatha Care Center following a brief illness.Funeral services will be held 1:00 Saturday afternoon, January 18, 2003 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello where friends may call after 12 noon. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Surviving is a brother, Louis (Lucretia) Graves, Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orlando, and 2 brothers, Roy and Galen. Ruth M. Graves was born April 21, 1916 at Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of Z. A. and Lillian White, Graves. Ruth graduated from the Monticello Community Schools with the class of 1934. She worked at Dr. Morris' office and attended Cedar Rapids Business College. Ruth then went to work in the office at Franklin Equipment Company in Monticello. She moved to California in 1942. Ruth Graves and Orlando R. Johnson were married May 17, 1946 at Reno, Nevada. The couple lived in Watsonville, California where Ruth was employed at the Granite Rock & Central Supply. Her husband preceded her in death on February 13, 1964. Ruth returned to Iowa in 1968 and made her home in Cedar Rapids. She was the Financial Secretary at the First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids for 8 years.
