| Doris V. Beranek, 84, of Oxford Junction passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City on August 2, 2016.Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction. Visitation will be Sunday, August 7 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction. Burial will be in the South Mineral Cemetery in rural Onslow following the service.Doris was born on October 21, 1931 in Maquoketa, Iowa to Jesse and Viola (Varner) Green. She married Richard Beranek on March 1, 1957. She spent many years helping on the farm. She was a member of Royal Neighbors Bohemian Lodge 22. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Delora (John Lupo) Barnett of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, Vionna (Bill) Naese of Stockton, Illinois, Jonathan (Susan) Beranke of Tipton, Roby (Elaine) Beranke of Darlington, Wisconsin, Rorie (Tammy) Beranke of Oxford Junction; fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildrenShe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Gerald and Harold Green.
