| Dale H. Groth, 82, of Olin, Iowa, died Friday, May 11, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa . Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Olin, Iowa. Burial will be held at a later date.
Dale H. Groth was born May 16, 1929 in Olin, Iowa to Alfred and Dora (Benichek) Groth. He attended school in Olin, Iowa graduating in 1947. He married Esther Reyelts on February 6, 1948 in Boyden, Iowa.
Dale farmed all his life. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was an avid Cubs fan. He enjoyed playing cards, many years of bowling, and planning family get-togethers, welcoming all.
Survivors are his wife, Esther Groth of Olin; five children: Sandra (Ralph) Andresen of Olin, Becky (Daniel) McAtee of Olin, Pamela (Brian) Woods of Anamosa, Brian (Dee) Groth of Olin, Cheryl (Brent) Chambers of Bellevue; thirteen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Ray) Kennedy of Walcott, a brother, Melvin Groth of Belton, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Leola Pegorick and Viola Houstman.
