Donald R. Hart

Donald R. Hart, 82, formerly of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa on Monday, December 7, 2009 following a long illness.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, December 12, 2009, at the Carson & Son Funeral and Cremation Services Maquoketa. Burial will be in the Wyoming, Iowa Cemetery at a later date.
Donald R. Hart was born on December 26, 1926 in rural Linn County to Maude L. (Anderson) and Howard B. Hart. Donald served with the U. S. Army in Korea, farmed worked for and retired from Clinton Engines. He was active in the Knights of Pythians Lodge in Maquoketa and the local vets organizations. He enjoyed dancing and spending time with his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his three sisters, Helen Mead of Anamosa, and Dorothy Sauer and Freda Lawrence, both of Monticello; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two wives, Mae and Dorothy, two brothers, Merle and Robert, and an infant sister, Sarah Jane.
